Laurence Olivier, born on May 22nd 1907, started acting at school and developed into the finest actor of the 20th Century.

His war service was interrupted in 1943 for him to make a film of Shakespeare's Henry V, which, with its strong patriotism was used to boost the morale of our nation at war.

It was one of the greatest performances and after his death in 1989 his ashes were buried at Westminster Abbey, where Henry V is also laid to rest.
