On December 1st 1990, two Nations that had hated each other for centuries were physically united for the first time in 9000 years.

Tunnelers Graham Fagg and Phillippe Cozette joined hands through a hole beneath the English Channel as the two sides of the Channel Tunnel met.

The tunnel, discussed for many years was finally started in 1986 and completed in 1986. 'Salut' to the men who made it happen.
