Scotsman, James Milne Wilson, was born a Leapling on 29th February 1812. He emigrated as a youth to Tasmania, where he trained as an engineer.
He leased and operated the Cascade Brewery for 14 years before embarking on a political career that culminated in a Knighthood as Premier of Tasmania.
He was a special person who became extra special by dying on his 17th birthday, aged 68. Born a Leapling, died a Leapling
The Cascade Brewery is now the oldest surviving working brewery in Australia.
