Field Marshall Henry Paget was a landowner of Burton upon Trent and a military commander at the battle of Waterloo.

Towards the end of the battle he was mounted beside the Duke of Wellington when a cannon shell shattered his right leg. He is reputed to have said “By God Sir, I’ve lost my leg” and the Duke replied “My God Sir, so you have”

The Amputated leg was buried in a Waterloo garden with its own gravestone until it went walkabout shortly before WWII.

Hops used are British Challenger and French Strisselspalt.
