After the end of the First World War, army chaplain, Reverend David Railton pursued an idea that had occurred to him in 1916. That of focusing the Nation's grief on the State funeral of an unknown British soldier who had died in the conflict.

After much high procrastination, his efforts were rewarded on 11th November 1920, when an unknown warrior was buried amongst kings in Westminster Abbey.

Typically David got scant recognition for his efforts, but we feel he deserves his own reward.

Hops used are English Pilgrim and German Herkules.
