Brewed for St. George's Day (April 23rd)

One of our directors, Geoff Mumford, was invited to the Ancient St. Georges Court at Lichfield. This was deemed sufficient excuse to brew another beer. A firkin is still donated to the Court each year, so that the Court's Ale Tasters may approve the beer.

The feast day of England's patron saint has been observed since the veneral Bede in 673A.D. But it wasn't until 1222 that the Synod of Oxford declared it a feast day.

Our beer hasn't been around that long, but it is still a good reason for a celebration and Lichfield's Ale Tasters haven't turned one down yet.

Hops used are Challenger.
